Day 1 - Sunday / Tuesday / Thursday
Ayers Rock Airport - Transfer Ayers Rock Resort
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
On arrival you will be met by your VIP Japanese Speaking Guide, who will assist with luggage. On the drive to Ayers Rock Resort your Guide will provide helpful information on local weather, Resort facilities, optional touring and dining options. Your guide will assist with hotel check-in and provide a full tour briefing.
Mid-afternoon we will depart Ayers Rock Resort and make our way to Kata Tjuta. Our first stop is made at the Kata Tjuta Viewing Area where you can see spectacular 360-degree views. Then a guided walk will be conducted into the Walpa Gorge. Marvel at the sheer walls that flank you as you enter the Gorge. Learn of the domes’ formation and of the flora and fauna of the region. We then travel back to Uluru for a guided base walk to Mutitjulu, a sacred waterhole. View ancient cave paintings and learn about Aboriginal legends of Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). Late in the day, we watch the sunset over Uluru. Admire the ever-changing colours of the mighty monolith while enjoying a complimentary glass of Australian Sparkling Wine with delicious canapés.
Dependent upon flight arrival time passengers may go directly to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park afternoon tour from the airport.
Day 2 - Monday / Wednesday / Friday
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park - Ayers Rock Resort
Enter Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and enjoy a warming cup of tea, coffee or Green tea as you witness the show of colour as the sun’s first rays strike Uluru. With the sun climbing the morning sky, you can choose to climb Uluru or take the guided Mala Walk to Kantju Gorge. During the Mala Walk you can learn the stories of the Mala (Rufous Hare Wallaby) and mythical ancestors that lived at Uluru.
Your Japanese Speaking Guide will provide you with commentary while driving around the base of Uluru. We return to Ayers Rock Resort before noon.
Upon the closure of the climb, passengers will be provided alternative touring participating on the Mala walk with Japanese Speaking Guide and will visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Cultural Centre.
Day 3 - Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday
Ayers Rock Resort - Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge
Departing from Ayers Rock Resort in the afternoon, en route to Kings Canyon we will make a photo stop at Atlia (Mt Conner). Then proceed to our exclusive Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge and settle into your accommodation. Your guide will assist with checking-in.
Passengers may choose to stay in Kings Canyon Resort (room only) as an alternative.
Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge is exclusively located on Kings Creek Station, a fully operational cattle and camel station of 1800 square kilometres. Set in a typical Central Australian bush environment among the Desert Oak trees – a tree that is only found in this region of Central Australia, Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge is sure to give you a memorable Australian Outback experience.
Please note that you may be required to checkout of your hotel room prior to commencement of this morning’s touring.
Upon the closure of the climb, passengers will be provided alternative touring participating on the Mala walk with Japanese Speaking Guide and will visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Cultural Centre.
Day 4 - Wednesday / Friday / Sunday
Watarrka National Park - Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge - Alice Springs
This morning we rise early and travel to Kings Canyon to undertake the spectacular Canyon Rim Walk. Alternatively passengers can choose to take the less strenuous Creek Walk.
We will have time to return to accommodation to freshen up before departing for Alice Springs.
Departing Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge, we drive along the Luritja Road and then Lasseter Highway. After having your lunch break at the Mt. Ebenezer Roadhouse (lunch at your own expense), we continue along the Stuart Highway and stop at the Camels Australia at Stuarts Well to learn a little about the impact that camels had in opening up this remote part of Australia. Perhaps ride a camel (own expense). Arriving into the outback town of Alice Springs we will take a short orientation tour visiting Anzac Hill which offers a panoramic view of the town and the spectacular MacDonnell Ranges.
On arrival at your accommodation in Alice Springs your guide will assist with hotel Check-in.
Clients who choose the approx. 3 hour Kings Canyon Rim Walk will be accompanied by their language guide. Clients who choose to undertake the Creek Walk will do so unescorted at their own leisurely pace.
Day 5 - Thursday / Saturday / Monday
Departure Alice Springs
Transfer from your Alice Springs Hotel to Alice Springs Airport for onward flight or to Alice Springs Railway Station for The Ghan.
