Day 1 – Sunday / Wednesday / Thursday / Saturday
Transfer to accommodation in Alice Springs
On arrival at Alice Springs Airport or Railway Station, you will be met by your Japanese speaking guide. Enroute to Alice Springs your guide will provide helpful information on local weather conditions, attractions and Alice Springs dining options. A short Alice Springs orientation tour will be provided including a visit to Anzac Hill, which offers a panoramic view of Alice Springs and the MacDonnell Ranges before arriving at your Hotel. On arrival at your hotel, your guide will assist with hotel check-in and provide a full tour briefing.
Day 2 – Sunday / Monday / Thursday / Friday
Alice Springs – Ayers Rock Resort
Depart Alice Springs and visit Camels Australia Camel Farm where you can relax, look around and maybe take a short Camel Ride (at your own expense). We continue along the Lasseter Highway, pass Atila (Mt Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. On arrival at Ayers Rock Resort your guide will assist with hotel check-in.
Kata Tjuta & Uluru Sunset Tour
Mid-afternoon we will depart Ayers Rock Resort and make our way to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Enjoy spectacular 360-degree views at the Kata Tjuta Dune Viewing Area. Your guide then takes you a guided walk into Walpa Gorge. Marvel at the sheer walls that flank you as you enter the Gorge. Learn of the domes’ formation and of the flora and fauna of the region. Thoughout the tour, your guide will also tell you about Anangu, the aboriginal people who are the traditional land owners of the area. You will learn about one of the oldest culture in the world. Late in the day, we watch the sunset over Uluru. Admire the ever-changing colours of the mighty monolith while enjoying a complimentary glass of Australian sparkling wine with delicious canapés.
Day 3 – Monday / Tuesday / Friday / Saturday
Ayers Rock Resort – Kings Canyon
Departing from Ayers Rock Resort in the afternoon, en route to Kings Canyon we will make a photo stop at Atila (Mt Conner) viewing spot. Then proceed to our exclusive Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge and settle into your accommodation. Your guide will assist with check-in. You may choose to stay at Kings Canyon Resort (room only) as an alternative.
Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge is exclusively located on Kings Creek Station, a fully operational cattle and camel station of 1800 square kilometres. Set in a typical Central Australian bush environment among the Desert Oak trees – a tree that is only found in this region of Central Australia, Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge is sure to provide you with a memorable Australian outback experience.
Day 4 – Sunday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Saturday
Rim Walk – Kings Canyon – Alice Springs
This morning we rise early and travel to Kings Canyon for the spectacular guided Rim Walk. Alternatively customers can choose to take the less strenuous Creek Walk. If you choose the approximate 3 hour Kings Canyon Rim Walk, you will be accompanied by your guide. If you choose to undertake the Creek Walk, you will do so unescorted at your own leisurely pace.
This afternoon we depart for Alice Springs travelling through some of the vast cattle properties of Central Australia, stopping at Kings Creek Station before arriving in the famous town of Alice Springs at approximately 6.30 p.m. Your guide will assist with check-in.
Day 5 – Sunday / Monday / Wednesday / Thursday
Transfer to Alice Springs Airport / Railway Station
You will be picked up approximate 2 hours prior to the flight or train departure. You will be transferred from your accommodation in Alice Springs to Alice Springs Airport for onward flight or to Alice Springs Railway Station to join The Ghan.
