Day 2 – SUNDAY / TUESDAY / THURSDAY / FRIDAY
Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Nourlangie Rock, Yellow Water Billabong Cruise
We depart early this morning from your Darwin accommodation and travel east into World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park with your Japanese speaking guide. Covering some 20 000 square kilometres, Kakadu is one of Australia’s most famous national parks. Kakadu’s vast wetlands and ancient escarpment are home to one of Australia’s largest and most diverse bird populations, supporting up to one-third of all Australian bird populations. This morning visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and gain an insight into the cultural and historical significance the park holds for its traditional owners. Join a guided boat cruise on Yellow Water Billabong travelling through Kakadu’s famous wetland area. Keep a look out for saltwater crocodiles, birdlife and beautiful waterlilies. After lunch travel to Nourlangie Rock art site and view the ancient galleries of Aboriginal rock art. The unique X-ray style works record the culture and evolution of the land and people over the past 40 000 years.
Please note your Japanese speaking guide goes back to Darwin on the day after Nourlangie Rock visiting.
