South Australia
The Festival State
South Australia is a state of Australia in the southern central part of the continent, and is bordered by the Indian Ocean. With a surface of more than 980,000 square kilometres, It is the fourth largest State of the country. South Australia is the driest state of the country, as it is made of vast semi-desert areas in the far Outback. The Murray River, which is the second largest river of the country, runs in South Australia before plunging into the sea. It is extremely precious as it is piped by many communities when a lack of rain occurs.
South Australia is popular for its numerous wineries, the most famous region being the Barossa valley. The state also offers beautiful beaches in popular locations like Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Whale watching is a popular attraction along the Great Australian Bight.
